چکیده

We propose a geodesic distance based scattering power decomposition for compact polarimetric (CP) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data acquired over agricultural landscapes. The proposed technique decomposes the polarized portion of total backscattered in proportion to normalized target similarity measures. measures are derived from distances, which computed between Kennaugh matrices observed and canonical targets (dihedral or trihedral). pseudo component double bounce power, can be attributed irregularities. In order compensate component, we compensation strategy by utilizing CP vegetation index ( CpRV I ). factor assisted readjusting components. approach was tested with real (RADARSAT Constellation Mission: RCM) simulated (RADARSAT-2: RS2) hybrid sites Canada. effectiveness demonstrated comparing decomposed powers recently decomposition.

Bilateral Distance Based Filtering for Polarimetric SAR Data

This paper introduces a non-linear Polarimetric SAR data filtering approach able to preserve the edges and small details of the data. It is based on exploiting the data locality in both, the spatial and the polarimetric domains, in order to avoid mixing heterogeneous samples of the data. A weighted average is performed over a given window favoring pixel values that are close on both domains. Th...

Three-Component Power Decomposition for Polarimetric SAR Data Based on Adaptive Volume Scatter Modeling

In this paper, the three-component power decomposition for polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) data with an adaptive volume scattering model is proposed. The volume scattering model is assumed to be reflection-symmetric but parameterized. For each image pixel, the decomposition first starts with determining the adaptive parameter based on matrix similarity metric. Then, a respective scattering power comp...

A three-component scattering model for polarimetric SAR data

An approach has been developed that involves the fit of a combination of three simple scattering mechanisms to polarimetric SAR observations. The mechanisms are canopy scatter from a cloud of randomly oriented dipoles, evenor double-bounce scatter from a pair of orthogonal surfaces with different dielectric constants and Bragg scatter from a moderately rough surface. This composite scattering m...

Analysis of Compact Polarimetric Sar Imaging Modes

Recent interest in dual-pol SAR systems has lead to a novel approach to dual-pol SAR, the so-called compact polarimetric imaging mode. The original idea, presented by Souyris et al. [1], employed a SAR system transmitting a linearly polarized wave rotated by 45° with respect to the orientation of the vertical (V) and horizontal (H) receive antennas. One then constructed pseudo quad-pol data fro...

A Modified Model Based Sar Target Decomposition Method for Polarimetric Data

This paper deals with the problems of the negative powers and the overestimated volume scattering power of the Yamaguchi Decomposition, when applied to the urban areas. Three measures, namely the orientation angle compensation, a modified volume scattering model and two power constraints are appended in our algorithm. A RADARSAT-2 quad polarimetric image acquired over the Suzhou City in China i...
